DRAMATIC PEEK-A-BOOS YOU'LL NEED: Crayons Empty shoe box White crafts glue, paste, or modeling clay Picnic treasures (such as feathers, coins, weeds, dry cereal, or miniature toys -- anything that might be useful in a diorama) Cotton balls Scissors White tissue paper Tape STEP 1 Color the inside of the box. Glue your picnic treasures onto the bottom of the box. For fluffy clouds, glue cotton balls around the inside top edge of the box. STEP 2 With adult help, cut a rectangular opening out of one end of the box. This will be the peek hole. STEP 3 Cut a piece of tissue paper large enough to cover the top of the box. Next, fold the edges of the paper around the box. Then tape the paper to the sides of the box. Now look inside the box through the peek hole. What do you see? And that's how to make a dramatic peek-a-boo box! SOME COOL IDEAS: There are lots of interesting treasures for this project. Look in your backyard or around the house for objects that have different shapes and textures: feathers, coins, weeds, dry cereal, or miniature toys.
